A RUCKSACK belonging to missing 14-year-old Alice Gross, from Hanwell, was found on Tuesday beside the River Brent - now police divers are at the scene.
Alice has been missing for a week.
The contents of the purple bag have been identified as Alice's by her family.
Previously, they had issued CCTV footage of her last known sighting on the Grand Union towpath at Brentford Lock.
Speaking on BBC London 94.9, Alice's mother, Rosalind Hodgkiss, said: "Alice had been diagnosed with anorexia and was going through a tough time in a number of ways and we are wondering whether her disappearance had anything to do with that, but we don't know."
