A NORTHFIELD firm is banned from giving outdoor motor cycle lessons following a High Court decision.

It follows noise complaints from residents and a lengthy planning battle.

Get Bike was twice issued with enforcement notices by Ealing Council and was in breach of its planning permission for operating training outside sessions outside its premises at Orion Park, Northfield Avenue.

The firm sells, hires and repairs motor cycles and offers motor cycle training, with conditions to protect neighbours by restricting bike collection times, limiting the noise of machinery used for repairs and banning training outside.

Following the latest High Court decision, Mr Justice Lewis ordered a ban to stop training sessions outside the building.

Cllr Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “Despite not having permission, Get Bike continued to create an intolerable disturbance to neighbours by running noisy training sessions for up to six hours each day.

“Residents will now be free to enjoy their gardens in peace without the intrusive noise of revving motor cycle engines so close to their homes, which is unacceptable, especially at weekends.”

Ealing Council will monitor the site to ensure Get Bike complies.
