PAINTINGS from the latest 4020 Art Group exhibition are lighting up Ealing Central Library.

As part of the Ealing Autumn Festival, the group used oils and acrylic to paint their interpretation of this year’s theme, Stars in the Family.

Hanwell resident and secretary of the 4020 Art Group, Maggie Le Rougetel, said: “We looked at the myths and legends surrounding the constellations.

“We combined that with images taken from modern telescopes, using false colour images of the surrounding nebulas, to produce our images.”

The 4020 group set up the exhibition in the main section of Ealing Central Library, where it will remain until mid-September before moving to other venues in the borough.

Diana Braybrook, resident artist at Osterley Park and House and a member of the 4020 Art Group, said: “We think it will appeal to children visiting the library over the summer holidays and could provide a stimulus for budding poets thinking of entering the Ealing Autumn Festival Poetry competition as the theme is ‘Constellations’.”

The 4020 Art Group will also be at the Hanwell Community Centre Fun Day today (Saturday) to exhibit other work by members.

The group’s new term starts on Monday, September 15, at Hanwell Community Centre. Anyone interested to find out more or join should contact Maggie at membership@4020artgroup.co.uk, telephone 020 8567 0528 or visit www.4020artgroup.co.uk.

The exhibition can be viewed for free during the library opening hours, which are: Monday 9am-5pm, Tuesday 9am-7pm, Wednesday 9am-7pm, Thursday 9am-8pm, Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-4pm.
