PEOPLE in the borough are invited to celebrate Armed Forces Day at Greenford Carnival tomorrow (Saturday).

Officers of the 582 Transport Squadron, from the Army Reserve Centre in Southall, will be attending an event similar to many being held across the UK, to recognise and celebrate the commitment and contribution of our armed forces.

Set against the backdrop of Greenford Carnival’s main stage, officers from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity will be on hand to tell visitors more about the British Armed Forces and the work the charity does to support them.

Formerly the Army Benevolent Fund, the charity provides financial and practical support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.

Greenford Carnival will be held in Ravenor Park from midday to 7pm. Highlights include live music and dance performances, plus a families area packed full of activities.

Entry is £2 per adult, while children aged 12 and under are free. A family ticket is £5, which covers entry for two adults and up to three children aged between 12 and 16.
