The body, believed to be that of Tahira Ahmed, was discovered in Merton Avenue around 9pm last night.
Neighbours said a husband and wife lived in the house, which has been cordoned off since this morning.
Kopi Nathan, controller of nearby Quick Northolt Minicab, told the Evening Standard: “It is a normal, quiet area, but police have been there since yesterday evening taking statements.”
A police spokesman said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
