YOUNG people are being sought to rate how ‘youth friendly’ services and sites in Ealing are.

The kind of places that might receive an inspection include council services, NHS clinics, leisure centres, libraries and courts.

Inspectors will be asked to judge the quality of service and information from a young person’s perspective and make recommendations for improvements.

Inspectors must be aged 13-19 (or up to 25 for young people with disabilities) and live anywhere in the borough.

Previous experience isn’t required as full training will be given. The training, by Ealing Council youth service, takes place on a Saturday, and inspectors must be prepared to commit one evening a week to assessing and feeding back.

David Archibald, executive director for children and adults, said: “Youth Inspectors is a national programme and I’m pleased to announce the creating of our own Ealing group.

“Too many services fail to take the needs and perspectives of young people into consideration, but this scheme will encourage them to listen and to change.”
