THE Ealing Half Marathon returns on September 28 with 6,000 runners hitting the streets.

Since the inaugural race in 2012, the Ealing Half has gone from strength to strength, gaining support from across the borough.

Last year, it was voted the race with the best atmosphere by Runners World UK, a tribute to the organisers and those who turned out to support.

Race Director Kelvin Walker said: “There is a great community spirit in Ealing, which the runners get to experience all along the course, and the #ealingfeeling is spreading across the country, with runners from near and far signing up.”

Starting and finishing in Lammas Park, the single-lap course takes in Central and West Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, Hanwell and St Stephens.

Alzheimer’s Society is the headline charity this year, with numerous other causes using it as a platform to raise funds and awareness.

Anyone wishing to take part is urged to sign up before the full allocation of places is taken up. It costs £34 if you are not a running club member and all finishers will receive a medal and an online e-goody bag.
