Signing up: Max and friends outside the new centre
A NEW sports centre has hit 1,000 members even before its doors open.
Everyone Active Acton is due to open on Saturday, April 5, in Acton High Street with a free open day, hosted by Olympic swimmer Steve Parry.
The 1,000th member, Max Walton O’Brien, was granted a complimentary annual membership, worth £450.
Work on the £19m leisure centre started in December 2012 and the result will be a 100-station gym, 25-metre swimming pool and two dance studios.
Founder membership subscriptions are available until April 5 at a reduced rate of £35 per month for life.
