THE annual Heathrow Jobs and Careers fair takes place on Tuesday (Feb 11) to give young people an idea of what's on offer at the airport.

More than 5,000 16-24 year olds are expected to attend, with parents and teachers also welcome.

Nearly 50 companies which operate at Heathrow will be present, while career advice and interview tips will also be dispensed.

Paula Stannett, Heathrow human resources director, said: ‘The Heathrow fair is about supporting young people from the local area.”

She added: “It was fantastic seeing so many attendees last year and I hope this year will be even more successful.”

Heathrow is one of the largest single-site employers, with more than 76,500 people working at the airport. Career opportunities include construction, engineering, communication and retail.

The fair is at the London Heathrow Marriot Hotel from 9:30am-7pm. Entry is free.
