A NEW series of workshops and activities for young people will begin at Pitzhanger Lodge this coming Saturday (February 8).

Those aged 14-20 are welcomed to attend a taster sesion at Pitzhanger Lodge as part of The Collectionists sessions.

The 2-4pm session will provide young people with the opportunity to explore Pitzhanger Manor and Walpole Park history.

Cllr Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “I urge all budding young architects, designers and museum curators to take part.

“You’ll gain exclusive access to life working in a museum and gallery, while also learning about architecture and fascinating structures.”

From March 1-29, the full series of sessions will take place at 2-4pm every Saturday.

Later sessions will examine the ideas, design, construction and history of buildings, including iconic London structures like the Shard and the Gherkin.

Behind-the-scenes insights and visits to galleries and museums are also planned for participants.

There will be an additional sessions on April 10 and 11 from 12-5pm.

Helen Walker, manager of Pitzhanger Manor, said: “Beginning on March 21 at PM Gallery & House is also a new show of breath-taking images by British photographer Richard Pare, whose lens has been trained for many years on the buildings created by modernist architects.”

The Collectionists taster session will take place this Saturday from 2-4pm at Pitzhanger Lodge, PM Gallery & House, Mattock Lane, Ealing, W5 5EQ.

No booking or previous experience is required to attend.
