PLANS to improve street lighting in six areas of the borough at a cost of £103,000 have been announced.
Grove Passage, Horn Lane, Churchfield Road and Bromyard Avenue, all in Acton, are earmarked by Ealing Council.
South Road and King Street in Southall will also benefit.
Police advised on the locations, based on crime reports and anti-social behaviour rates.
Cabinet member for environment and transport Bassam Mahfouz said: “Good street lighting helps to reduce crime.”
He said police had noted reduced rates of crime and anti-social behaviour in areas where lighting had been improved. People also felt safer when out after dark.
Work is due to begin in May and be completed by November.
