Ealing Involved - the charity shop that's online

EALING Involved, a charity supporting community projects across the borough, has launched a new website to encourage donations of household items as an alternative to throwing them out.

The idea is that anyone who wants to donate an unused lamp or old kitchen chair, a computer keyboard, office desk - or almost anything - simply posts details of the item on Ealing Involved and a community group will arrange collection at no cost.

The charity says that even unwanted children’s toys and games could be useful for a local toddlers’ playgroup.

Carmel Cahill, deputy chief executive of Ealing Community and Voluntary Services, said: “Ealing Involved supports people and organisations who are making a difference.”

Ealing Involved is a joint venture between ECVS, the social enterprise Stickyboard, and Ealing Council.

The charity was launched in November at Pitshangar Manor. It aims to rotate donations to nine local Ealing community groups.

Visit the new web portal at www.ealinginvolved.org for more information and to donate.
