A broken-hearted lothario has made no secret of losing their lover and left a romantic poem on a number of shops in Devizes.

One of the poems, titled I'm Sorry Baby, was secured to the window of the Gazette and Herald office.

It reads: "I just want to say that I still love you and that I miss the things we used to do."

The author continues that he or she misses the way their loved one says the words "peas", "carrots" and "cheese".

Some violence seems to have taken place during the relationship because the writer says: "I still have a bump where I was hit with a spoon".

There is some clue as to the identity of the subject's place of work: "So please if you see me walk past your shop, just step out the door and ask me to stop."

The poem concludes: "You know who you are. So this poem I do/All I can say is that I still love you."

The Gazette firmly believes that it serves the purpose of giving local people the channel through which they can air their views and, if the author of the rhyme will contact us, we will be happy to discuss the possibility of publishing their tale of woe.
