A SAMARITANS wellbeing roadshow was in Southall Square on Saturday when 12 volunteers from branches in Ealing and Harrow listened to issues raised by visitors.

They spoke to more than 200 people and gave out leaflets.

Southall MP Virendra Sharma, who called in, said: “Events like these are crucial for letting people know they are never alone and that they should never feel ashamed or afraid to ask for help. Promoting strong communication networks in times of personal crisis is key.”

Jennifer Shipside, Deputy Director for Outreach at Samaritans Ealing, said: “We listen and offer non-judgmental support to anyone needing to talk.

“The We Listen roadshow helps us to not only highlight our service but also ensure more people know how to get in touch and that it’s OK to not be OK.

"We’re very grateful for Ealing Council and all those involved in making the day such a success.”

Samaritans host a range of outreach events every year throughout the UK and Ireland to encourage people to seek help before reaching crisis and to raise awareness of the charity.
