PEOPLE in Ealing are being urged to get their blood pressure checked for free under an initiative called Know Your Numbers.

The campaign encourages adults across the UK to know their blood pressure numbers and provides checks for around 250,000 adults across the UK.

Out of the 800 blood pressure checks carried out nationally during the campaign last year, One You Ealing physical health service carried out 371 of these, amounting to nearly 50% of the total figure.

In Ealing, ‘pressure stations’ will be located throughout the borough, including pharmacies, leisure centres and places of worship from September 18-24.

Volunteers hosting the stations will provide information and advice on simple steps to keep blood pressure under control and will measure your blood pressure accurately.

Johnny Nota, Service Manager for One You Ealing, said: “Around one in three adults in the UK has high blood pressure, and we want to remind everyone their health matters.

“Blood pressure is known as the ‘silent killer’, but we are very much hoping to make some noise to ensure Ealing residents get theirs checked and beat our record from last year.”
