Chances to make a difference

OVERSEAS volunteering opportunities from marine conservation in Mexico to teaching in rural India are on offer at an open day in St Albans tomorrow.

Global Vision International (GVI), an ethical volunteering company based at 3, High Street, is showcasing what it has to offer for people who want to help environmental or humanitarian projects.

Spokesman Stephanie O'Grady said: "The open day offers people interested in volunteering the chance to learn about some of the 150 expeditions and projects that we run.

"Videos from GVI's projects will be shown throughout the afternoon for visitors to get a real feel for what life as a volunteer is really like.

"GVI staff, who are all experienced travellers and past volunteers, will be on hand to provide travel advice, answer questions and share their experiences."

The open day will last from noon to 3pm, although anyone interested is advised to phone first on 01727 250250.
