THE majority of Ealing Times readers believe the Dickens Yard project should go ahead in the centre of the borough.

This week's web poll asked readers whether they thought the planned project will benefit the centre of Ealing, or whether it should only be given the go-ahead along with The Leaf or only without The Leaf.

Exactly 40 per cent of respondents thought the project would unequivocally benefit the borough, while 25 per cent believe it will not have a positive impact.

Only 15 per cent of those who replied said the project should only go ahead if the proposed Arcadia project is given the go-ahead, while a fifth felt it should only be built if Arcadia is rejected.

Last week the council approved the sale of land behind the Town Hall in preparation for an application from Dickens Yard developers St George.

This week's web poll asks "Should police officers have the right to strike?".
