THESE dramatic images show the bold plans for the redevelopment of the Arcadia centre site in Ealing Broadway which were submitted this week.
Architect Lord Foster, responsible for the Gherkin and the new Wembley Stadium, has designed a 40-storey tower, dubbed The Leaf as the focal point of the new development.
If completed, the site would boast 225,000 square feet of shopping space and 700 new homes.
If the plans are agreed by Ealing Council, The Leaf would be more than three times the size of any building in the town centre.
However, the plans have divided opinion locally, with some hailing The Leaf as a landmark' and others calling it absurd'.
More pictures of the plans will be released over the coming weeks and will be posted on the Ealing Times website.
