Sewa Day: projects galore in Ealing
SEWA Day, an international celebration of giving, will bring people together in Ealing on Sunday, October 7, as they help others in the community.
Projects will take place throughout the borough, including litter-picking on the Grand Union Canal towpath at Southall, to encourage people to perform acts of kindness without expecting anything in return.
The special day, rooted in Indian culture, is already supported by six schools, including Downe Manor Primary and Dormers Wells Infants.
Sewa Day chairman Arup Ganguly said: “We believe we all have a responsibility to help the communities we individually benefit from being part of.
“Through taking out a little time and commitment, the people of Ealing can change things for the better.”
