ST BENEDICT’S School, Ealing, began the new autumn term with a celebration of the upcoming Year of Faith at Ealing Abbey.

The Year of Faith, which begins officially on October 11, allows all Christians to renew the faith in their lives.

St Benedict’s Junior and Senior school held a mass in the abbey, during which the headmasters, Chris Cleugh and Rob Simmons, deputy heads and heads of RE renewed their baptismal promises and led the school in the Profession of Faith.

Mr Cleugh described it as a deeply spiritual experience.

It was followed by an offertory procession by pupils who have recently celebrated their first Holy Communion and Confirmation.

The school’s celebration will culminate next year with a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
