CCTV footage shows rubbish being put out
THE owner of a Southall restaurant was fined more than £3,700 after his staff dumped rubbish in the street.
Abdirizak Ahmed Yusuf, of Somali restaurant, Gafun, was prosecuted at Uxbridge Magistrates Court following an investigation by Ealing Council’s Envirocrime Prevention Service.
CCTV images showed staff from the restaurant in The Green putting rubbish on the pavement on seven nights in April.
Yusuf was found guilty on all seven counts of failing to prevent his staff from doing so.
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport and environment, said: “There is no excuse for dumping rubbish in the street and we will continue to take action to fine businesses who do not adhere to the rules.”
