THE compassion and understanding of an Ealing human resources worker was recognised at a national awards ceremony.
Leyla Ari, 38, was presented with the Regional Recognition award at the Shaw Awards, beating off competition from amongst 4,000 other healthcare staff.
“It felt great just to be nominated, but to actually win was such a surprise,” she said.
“We’re so focused day to day on caring for people you don’t think about awards or accolades, so to get this came as a real shock – but a very good one!”
Shaw Healthcare, one of the UK’s leading providers, held the awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Swindon.
Chief executive Jeremy Nixey said the awards were an important way to acknowledge those workers that go above and beyond the call of duty.
