A HILLINGDON couple who met on Facebook are celebrating a whirlwind year after having two babies in 12 months.
Lisa and Jason Cole welcomed Faith in to the world on January 12 last year and were celebrating her first birthday last week, along with the arrival of her little brother Ethan, born on Christmas Day.
The couple met on Facebook in December 2009 and married four months later after Lisa, 33, moved from Worcester to be with Jason, 39.
“We both felt it was all it was meant to be - ideal,” said Lisa.
The couple have seven other children but were desperate for a child together and prayed for a baby as soon as they were wed.
“We asked ‘him upstairs’ in church for a girl," said Lisa, who attends Ealing Abbey. "Shortly after that, we found out we were expecting a daughter - hence the name Faith.”
Just two months after welcoming baby Faith into the world, the couple found out she was pregnant again.
Ethan Joseph was the first baby to be born on Christmas Day at Hillingdon Hospital, arriving at 2.44am.
“It should have been Santa delivering, not me!” said Lisa.
Ethan wasn’t due until Jan 3, the same birthday as another of Lisa’s older daughters.
Their family life is full of similar coincidences, with Lisa and Jason's birthdays just one day apart on August 17 and 18.
The couple praised Hillingdon Hospital health assistant Asha Komal, who took time to sit with Lisa and Jason and help them with their extra special Christmas present.
“She was so lovely and helped us feed him,” said Lisa. “It’s not often people go out of their way and make an extra effort with others.”
The hospital treated the happy family to a special Christmas hamper and Ethan’s first stocking.
They made it home in time for Christmas dinner and presents.
“Our Christmas day baby was the icing on the cake,” she said.
