THE horrifying deaths of two more wallabies at Brent Lodge Park, Hanwell, are being investigated by police.

Staff were sickened to find one animal with its throat cut, while the limbs of the other were scattered across the park on Wednesday, November 16.

The pair had been brought there to keep another wallaby, Rolph, company after his companion, Bruce, was decapitated by an intruder in October.

It is not yet known whether the incidents are linked, or whether foxes could be responsible for this latest attack.

Park manager Jim Gregory said: “It’s hard to put into words what it’s done to me. It’s just devastating. You think things can’t get any worse and then this happens.

“Something like this makes you question why you do a job like this. It makes you question everything.”

CCTV is being installed at the site, and additional overnight security patrols have been introduced.

Acting Det Insp Steve Mayes, of Ealing police, said: “We are increasingly concerned regarding the incidents in the park. It is visited by many families and they will be upset about this second attack.

“These sorts of incidents are very unusual and we are determined to find the person or persons responsible.”
