AN annual bike rally is taking to the streets around Finchley this weekend in a bid to encourage people to ditch their cars for pedal power.

The fourth Greenacres Bike Rally takes place this Sunday, and organisers hope to get as many people from across the borough as possible involved.

Last year around 200 riders took to the streets, some on unusual cycles, led by Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers.

The rally takes place in two stages, the first is a triangular route around Finchley streets and the second follows the Dollis Valley green walk to the Barnet Countryside Centre in Byng Road for a green fair and refreshments.

People will start assembling at 10am outside the artsdepot for the ride which starts at midday.
