WORK to repair concrete pillars on a busy motorway bridge starts on Monday and is set to bring delays for drivers in Colindale.

The Highways Agency will be operating lane closures in Aerodrome Road, close to the Peel Centre, while repairs are carried out to the M1 bridge there, with work scheduled to last 16 weeks.

Paul Robinson, the route performance manager, said: “This work will ensure the continued safety of the bridge and reduce the need for emergency repair work in the future.

“Drivers using Aerodrome Road during the work are advised to plan ahead and leave extra time for their journeys.”

One lane will be kept open in each direction on the busy road, but there will be some footpath closures during the repairs with work carried out between 8am and 6pm.
