A SPECIALIST wine shop opened in Pitshanger Lane on Saturday with established classics and new-world favourites on offer.
TV wine guru Oz Clarke opened the store and was on hand to offer advice to customers.
The store will stock around 600 different quality wines from between £8 and £15. Australia will feature strongly in the new range reflecting its popularity with customers, and there will be more emphasis on wines from the Vin du Pays regions and the Rhone Valley of France rather than the traditional Bordeaux.
A wine club will be available to customers with which will include a newsletter, access to buyers tasting cases, free local delivery, and a collector card offering significant savings.
Eight other Wine Rack stores are opening around the country coinciding with a week-long wine fair, with tasting competitions and prizes for customers.
