COMMUTERS are still waiting to see if Ken Livingstone will go to court over the public private partnership proposed for London Underground.
London Regional Transport was due to reveal whether the PPP contracts were under negotiation by 10am on Wednesday, after which the Mayor and his Transport Commissioner, Bob Kiley, were due to review their response. The legal action is being threatened as a means of enforcing London's interests in relation to PPP.
In a statement on Monday, he said: "London Regional Transport continue to fail to answer the question which we have been putting since February 22 'are the PPP contracts still under negotiation'?
"If the contracts are still being negotiated and, in particular, if the provisions on risk transfer which are key to any judgement of value for money had not been finalised, then London Regional Transport Board had no business recommending that the government proceed."
