A TEN-year-old girl has clinched top prize in a chess competition.
Alexandra Bottemanne, of West Ealing, won the under-ten girls category at the British Chess 2004 Championships in Scarborough on Saturday, 14th August.
She said:"It was really surprising to win as there were lots of girls who were better than me."
The Andre Malraux primary school pupil has been playing chess since she was six-and-a-half years old.
She added:"I like chess a lot and I would like to be a chess teacher when I am older."
