A HEATWAVE warning has been issued by the Met Office ahead of the hottest days of summer so far.

Weather forecasters have predicted highs of up to 32 degrees across London during the next week, with consistently high temperatures every day.

In the summer's first 'heat health' warning, Wayne Elliott, from the Met Office, warned residents to look after vulnerable and elderly people because temperatures are expected to remain high at night.

The hottest day of the year so far was on Thursday, which was measured at 28 degrees. However, that is expected to be topped this week.

There could also be a repeat of Saturday's thunderstorms which swept across the capital, as heat and humidity is expected to continue to build.
