FOLLOWING from surveys, NHS Ealing has been working with local GP practices across the borough to offer extra appointments at times that are convenient for patients.
More than 60 GP practices now offer appointments earlier in the morning, or later in the evening, or at weekends. Practices are also increasing their opening hours from Monday to Friday to make it easier for patients to telephone or visit their practices. Information about opening hours is available from GP practices or on the NHS Choices website www.nhs.uk Community pharmacists may also be open later in the evening and at the weekend and can provide a range of services, including advice about minor ailments.
Joanne Murfitt, Director of Commissioning and Performance for NHS Ealing, said: “We are continually looking at ways of improving access to local health services in Ealing. If you have any comments or suggestions about what kind of services you would like to see provided at times that are convenient for you, please discuss these with your practice or contact the NHS Ealing Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).”
