THE Tories have announced the candidate they hope can wrest a local parliamentary seat away from labour at the next General Election.
Councillor Gurcharan Singh has been chosen to represent the Conservatives at the next election, which is expected to be in May 2010, at the Ealing Southall seat.
Cllr Singh was one of five councillors to defect from Labour to the Tories during the July 2007 by-election for the seat, which was won by Labour's Virendra Sharma by around 10,000 votes.
