SOUTHALL Post Office in The Broadway is to close early next year, subject to a public consultation.
There are four alternative post offices close to the current directly managed branch.
Lady Margaret Road PO is a short distance away and is open Monday to Friday.
Mount Pleasant PO at 4 North Parade, also nearby, is open six days a week.
King Street and Western Road PO branches are also open six days.
All four branches are within two miles and are operated by independent postmasters. In addition, the Post Office plans to advertise for a ‘local style’ branch operator in the area.
A six-week public consultation has begun and customers can provide feedback until December 27. Posters and leaflets will be displayed in branch to let customers know about the proposed change.
Feedback can be provided on postofficeviews.co.uk where customers can enter the branch name (Southall Post Office), postcode (UB1 1PY), or unique branch code (027020) to submit their views via a questionnaire.
