THREE CCTV operators have been praised after receiving an award for helping police catch a man brandishing a gun.
The trio, George Goes, Lawrence Obiajunwa and Julius Eboh were working on the evening of February 13 when they alerted cops to the danger.
They were tracking a gang of men who had just been involved in a fight and spotted one of them had a gun.
They informed officers, who pursued the men and were eventually involved in a car chase.
Subsequently, seven people were arrested on firearms offences.
Susan Parsonage, Ealing Council's director of safer communities, said: "We are very proud of Julius, George and Lawrence.
"If they hadn't been so eagle-eyed I dread to think what might have happened.
"CCTV has proved to be a vital tool in keeping the streets safe, and helping to catch criminals."
The three were handed the Mitie stars award, which recognises exceptional customer care, on Wednesday.
