A MEETING of Ealing Council's cabinet was forced to move rooms after loud outbursts by members and users of a charity group.

Police escorted members of the Southall Black Sisters group from the council buildings after the cabinet agreed to pass a report which could see their funding from the authority slashed.

More than 80 people associated with the group, which helps female victims of domestic violence from black and asian communities, attended the meeting, following a loud demonstration on the steps of the council building.

Some members of the group were involved in clashes with police officers, who had been asked to attend the meeting.

More soon.
