DRUGS with a street value of £300,000 were found at an address in Acton along with equipment to produce crack cocaine, according to police.

At about 6pm last Wednesday a drugs raid was carried out at an address in Burleigh Tower, Trinity Way, Acton, where officers found what they have described as a crack cocaine drug factory.

Inside the premises, police say they recovered an estimated street value of £300,000 of crack cocaine, paraphernalia for making it, a semi-automatic handgun with five bullets and £7,750 in cash.

DCI Mick Murphy from Ealing CID said police were mounting drugs operations to try to make London a safer place.

He said: "Drug dealers are responsible for creating much misery and fear and this operation gives across the clear message that we will not tolerate it."

The raid comes only a week after a huge drugs swoop on a pub in Hayes which involved nearly 160 officers.

A similar covert operation was carried out in West Ealing market in May this year after months of intelligence and undercover work.

Operation Bugsy was put into place after police were informed of alleged drug dealing taking place in and around West Ealing Market.

The operation was a joint effort between Ealing and Acton Drugs squads and other units such as the Territorial Support Group.

Thirteen people were arrested and charged with drug trafficking offences as a direct result of Operation Bugsy.

Police are continuing their investigation with regards to the raid in Acton and there are a number of key targets the police are interested in.

If anyone can help the police with their inquiries in relation to this call Ealing CID on 020 8246 9731.

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the Acton raid. They are due to appear at court today
