We are the Disabilty Times Trust, a National Newspaper and organisation helping disabled people as well as providing courses in Desktop Publishing, Web Design and Journalism.

We are currently trying to purchase Amherst Lodge, which was given to the community by the benefactors of the Rt.Hon The Lord Llewelyn Nevill Vaughan Mostyn and his brother the Hon. Henry Richard Mostyn. Amherst Lodge has been a residential school, a children's home, a baby & mother home and has also served as an accommodation for disabled people.

The Ealing Council now wants to put Amherst Lodge up for auction and sell it to the highest bidder, although we have already made a substantial offer for it. If the property does get auctioned, it will most probably go to developers who will almost certainly demolish it.

We are urgently trying to stop Amherst Lodge from being auctioned, and it is for this reason that we are holding a petition outside Christ church and collecting as many signatures as we can in order to stop the auction from taking place.

Over 4000 local residents have already shown their support by signing a petition against the auctioning of Amherst Lodge.

The BBC will be attending a gathering outside Christ church in Ealing Broadway on Thursday July 4th at 10am. Disability Times Trust is inviting all groups who have an interest in the well-being of the community and its residents to come along and support us.

Thank you for your time

Goran Lukic,
