New CCTV hit-and-run image

POLICE investigating a hit-and-run in Acton which left a five-year-old in hospital have released an image of a van they want to trace.

Rachel Popoola was knocked down on a zebra crossing in North Acton Lane, on Saturday, October 27.

She is still in hospital recovering from her injuries.

The collision happened between 4pm and 5pm and the dark coloured van failed to stop at the scene.

Police say the van is thought to be a Volkswagen Caravelle or Transporter and is likely to have sustained damage at the front and may have broken front lights.

Officers want anyone who is aware of a van which sustained such damage after that Saturday evening to get in touch.

Those with information can contact the Traffic Serious Casework Unit on 0207 230 4995, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Earlier this month, Rose Cleary, 72, was killed when she was hit outside her house in the same road.
