A SCRAP dealer was arrested this morning (Wednesday) on suspicion of breaking the terms of an ASBO imposed on him in January.
Manny Bignall, 69, was arrested at his home in Cambridge Road, Hanwell, just after 9am this morning by members of the Elthorne Safer Neighbourhood Team, who also carried out a full search of the building.
He was handed an ASBO in January after neighbours and businesses in the surrounding streets complained about stripped-out cars, some of which were found to be stolen, allegedly dumped by Mr Bignall.
The terms of his ASBO mean he is no longer allowed to keep cars that do not belong to him, and he has also been banned from driving for a year.
Ealing Council environmental health officers have now been called in to search the house, as the police sergeant at the scene said it was a health and safety risk to his officers.
More soon.
