Community campaigners are looking for volunteers to help “clean up” the streets of Harrow.
Our Wealdstone have recruited the police and Harrow Council to support them in a weekend of rubbish collection later this month.
The group, led by community activists, are keen to dispel a feeling of the area being “unloved” following recent incidents of fly-tipping and petty crime.
In the spirit of community cohesion, the campaigners have in the past run street parties, Christmas coat donations and a Mother’s Day daffodil distribution.
They want to get as many people as possible involved in the mass clean up on May 18 and 19 which is being supported by the Harrow Clean Team and the Marlborough MPS and Safer Neighbourhood Team.
The group are also planning in future to offer free sessions at a boxing club called Knives down, Gloves Up, monthly bike MOTs and a ladies only cycling group, afternoon tea events and loyalty cards for traders to boost the Harrow economy.
