AN Ealing community group has won a public vote and up to £50,000 of National Lottery funding in this year’s The People’s Projects.
The money was awarded after Dementia Concern won the public over with its plans for a cafe.
It was among 95 projects competing for a share of £3m. Each had its work featured on TV, giving the public a chance to see it in action and then choose where the money should go.
Ealing Dementia Café by Dementia Concern in Ealing received £50,000 and will provide dementia cafes for people living with the condition and their carers, providing food and entertainment.
Individual cafés are themed, adding to the enjoyment of those attending, connecting directly with their memories.
