A SUPPORTER is running the London Marathon this month to raise funds for Ealing Law Centre.

Maria Ellis said: “I have lived in Ealing for 18 years and my children have grown up and gone to school here.

“I would like to think they would be supported in every way, particularly if they found themselves needing legal advice.”

The idea for a community law centre in Ealing was conceived in 2012, and it opened its doors the following April.

Ealing does not have a Citizens’ Advice Bureau and many residents who cannot afford a lawyer have nowhere else to get legal advice, which is given free.

The law centre helps people wrongly denied benefits, who are at risk of homelessness or feel they are victims of domestic violence or human trafficking.

Maria is raising funds to help keep the doors in Northfield Avenue open.
