CHARITY swimmers at Acton Leisure Centre took part in the World’s Biggest Charity Swimathon at the weekend and raised £2,633.

The centre, operated by Everyone Active for Ealing Council, had 41 swimmers collecting money for Cancer Research and Marie Curie.

Marilyn Rust completed it three times in three days, swimming an individual 5K each time. She beat her time each day, finishing on Sunday in 1hr 47min 6 sec. She raised £950.

A team called Never Give Up, made up of two siblings aged seven and 12, completed a team 1.5k in 45min 12sec.

Youngest swimmer Olivia Mena, 6, completed an individual 400m in 31min 37sec, alongside her mum and dad.
