A TOTAL of 68 new flats and houses at Peterhead Court, Southall, have been handed over to Ealing Council by developers Higgins.
The firm was awarded the £18m contract to replace 20 sub-standard homes on the Golf Links Estate, built in the 1970s, with new homes for affordable rent and sale to first-time buyers.
A community centre has also replaced the existing one, which has been using temporary portable cabins for the past 30 years.

Golf Links Estate was identified in 2008 as one of the handful of high-intervention estates in need of regeneration.
An Ealing Council spokesman said: “Many of the new homes have been let to existing estate residents, at rent levels well within the means of the average family in Ealing.
“Some of the homes will be sold to first-time buyers to help them on to the property ladder.”
