EALING and Hillingdon London Assembly Member Onkar Sahota experienced life as a postie when he joined David Anderson on his delivery round in Hanwell.
Anna Gustaw, Royal Mail delivery manager, who briefed Onkar before he set off, said: “It gave us the opportunity to show Onkar how we are continuing to modernise and transform our organisation.
"We have invested in new sorting and delivery equipment as we respond to the changing nature of the modern postbag.
“We are delivering more parcels and fewer letters than ever before and the tools for the job need to reflect that.”
Dr Sahota said: “Joining David on his round provided me with an invaluable insight into the logistics that go into ensuring people receive their mail on time.”
