A 17-year-old was left with a bleed on the brain, a detached eye retina, and a suspected fractured eye socket, after she was attacked in the city centre.
The assault happened outside Barclays in St Peter’s Street, St Albans, at around 6.40pm on Friday March 1.
The victim was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Police believe she knew her attackers – which was a group of youths.

• A 14 year old girl and a 15 year old girl from St Albans have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They have been police bailed until March 28 while enquiries continue.
