South Bucks was transformed into a winter wonderland as giant flurries started to fall at around 3pm in High Wycombe.

It came as the Met Office put a yellow ice warning in place for Bucks.

Dozens of crashes were reported, a number of roads had to be closed by police, cars were abandoned and public transport ground to a halt.

This morning, a host of schools around the county announced closures or change to their timings, while the Met Office put out another ice warning.

Drivers around High Wycombe and surrounding areas reported travel times of more than an hour to get around, with the Abbey Way flyover, Amersham Hill, Marlow Hill and A40 London Road gridlocked.
