More than £4 million of additional cash will be ploughed into repairing the county’s roads, it has been confirmed this week.
On Monday cabinet member for transport at Bucks County Council, Mark Shaw, said the authority should receive £4 million to £6 million from government to patch up potholes.
It has since been confirmed the county will be handed £4.6 million from a £420 million national pot of funding for infrastructure repairs.
The grant, earmarked for potholes, bridge repairs and road defects, must be spent by March next year.
Cllr Shaw said: “The extra money for road repairs is very welcome, and we’ll be deciding in due course how and where it will be invested.
“We’ve worked extremely hard to maintain our roads, and this year we’ve invested around £25 million to improve them.”
