A community held a special service and parade in memory of those who gave their lives during the First World War.
Oxhey Village marked one hundred years since the end of the Great War by laying wreaths at a memorial and taking part in “Community Walk” on Sunday.
The ceremony of remembrance was organised by Oxhey Village Environment Group.
Villagers gathered on Oxhey Green for the laying of wreaths by Mrs Jill Ibbott and Ms Lynn Loveday in memory of families who lost someone during the war.
The community Cubs paid their respects and the Oxhey Violets Women’s Institute also laid hand-painted poppies on the stones. The service was led by reverend Richard Lowson of Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church.
Oxhey villagers and police then walked a poppy-lined route to Watford Heath for the main service attended by 300 people.

More wreaths were laid by Mr Raj Patel, the Tenth Oxhey Brownies, Fourth Bushey Guides, 29th Watford South, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
Police and ward councillors also paid their respects.
Sam Probert, aged 19, who serves in the Royal Air Force returned home specially for the service.
The ceremony ended with refreshments served at Oxhey Bowls Club.
