DETECTIVES investigating the murder of 22-year-old Hashim Abdalla Ali, who was fatally shot on Thursday, October 11, have made an arrest.

A man aged 27 was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of murder at an address in Birmingham.

Police were originally called to Uxbridge Road, Hillingdon, at its junction with West Drayton Road, where a black Mercedes was reported to have collided with a number of parked vehicles.

Hashim Abdalla Ali was found in the car suffering from a suspected gunshot injury. He was being driven to hospital when the collision occurred.

An air ambulance attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have established that the victim was shot at 2.37pm while sitting in the passenger seat of the car, parked in Central Avenue, Hayes, close to the junction with Addison Way.

They would like to speak with anyone who was in the area between 2.30 and 2.45. It is a quiet area and it is likely that people would have heard the gunshot.
